Dear MARACOOS members,
MARACOOS will hold elections for the Board of Directors this spring. We are now accepting nominations. All current paid members of MARACOOS are eligible. (You may check your membership status by emailing info@maracoos.org with the subject line: “Membership Status”).
The goal is to have a Board of Directors that reflects the diversity of the membership and the Mid-Atlantic region, in order to expand and diversify the ocean, and coastal workforces and to improve our ability to provide relevant ocean and coastal data, information products, and benefits to all Mid-Atlantic communities.
Board terms generally run for 3 years, unless otherwise stated by the Board when the slate of nominations is announced. The nomination process requires submitting your own member name or the name of another member with a short note of interest (resumes may be submitted) to the nominating committee at info@maracoos.org with the subject line: “2021 Board nomination”. Nominations will be accepted until March 31, 2021. Thereafter, the nominating committee will consider the nominees, and announce the election slate. Elections will be held in tandem with the MARACOOS Annual Meeting in late spring.
