Recently MARACOOS established an ERDDAP server to distribute High Frequency Radar surface current measurements. ERDDAP is a data server that provides a simple, consistent way to download subsets of scientific datasets in common file formats and also can make graphs and maps with the data. Different types of data from a variety of sources is standardized and made more accessible.
ERDDAP ensures data is provided with ISO standard 19115 for geographic metadata. This allows for robust searching capabilities and data discovery. MARACOOS also plans on releasing satellite, glider and drifter data via this new platform.
